- The late Monsoon floods in West Bengal and Bihar have claimed almost 1,000 lives.
- More than 11 million people are marooned. The damage is estimated at more than Rs. 3,089 crore (aprox $667 million).
- More than 17.1 million people in 37 municipalities have been affected by the floods.
- One million hectares of agricultural land have been inundated in the floods.
- All the areas are under the threat of water borne diseases, dehydration and epidemics.

Appeal to help Rehabilitation of Flood-hit Victims of Bengal and Bihar
- The late Monsoon Floods in West Bengal and Bihar have claimed almost 1000 lives.
- More than 11 million people are marooned.
- The damage is estimated at more than Rs 30.89 billion (aprox USD 73 million).
- The toll in the floods in the state may touch 1000 with reports of more deaths pouring in from the inaccessible areas of the state.
- More than 17.1 million people are affected.
- A total number of 144 blocks and 37 municipalities have been affected by the floods.
- Ten lakh hectares of agricultural land have been inundated in the floods.
- All the areas are under the threat of water borne diseases, dehydration and epidemics.
